Dream Girl

Ayushmann is on roll and yet again with one of the most variety script he is back to steal your hearts. He as female impersonating call center girl has done a nuanced yet massy role with perfection. The question remains does it worth your time and and was it up to the mark. The answer is it does have its moment but it lacks overall impact what it intends to. There are many one liners which can tickle your funny bones and you can have a hearty laugh at that. Anu Kapoor as the father of Ayushmann has played his character to the perfection and him turning into Rahul can make you love him from the bottom of your heart whereas Nusrat Bharucha has very limited space to perform but again whatsoever screen space is given she is decent at that. Vijay Raaz can make you fall off your chair with his antiques with decent performances by all the other supporting cast. The flick is about a man who can impersonate female voice which makes series of charcter falls in love with her which we have anyway seen in trailer. Yes, the plot is just this and when end credits roll it delivers a message which is not out of this world. The entire movie drags on this one point and you expect some more from this romantic drama. It is that kind of movie where you seek for more but you are given just laughing dose. The songs Dream Girl and Radhe Radhe is mind blowing and if you already love Dhagala Lagali like me, you would be disappointed as it isn’t premiered in big screen and Gat Gat plays during the end credits. This movie is making waves not because it is the best but due to recent win of Ayushmann in National Awards. It does have some jokes which goes overboard but if you are looking for not a heavy movie and just want to have a time pass you won’t be disappointed.

PK

A superb movie asking all us all to take care of humanity rather than just religion. Because humanity is the religion we must care about before anything else.Once again, Aamir Khan (actor) takes away all the limelight and Cool to see Shushant Singh Rajput act beautifully. Anushka sharma pokes fun when she runs after Amir Khan, alien in the movie. She has done a very beautiful work as a journalist. The movie clearly portrays all your Doubts about God’s existence,Which God to Believe.!! Though the cocept of movie have been copied from 2012 movie “oh my god”.A must watch. If not for fun then for the content it presents. The ambiguity of our societies and the unexplained norms or barriers are explicitly shown to generate evolutionary thoughts. Definitely 5 stars.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

One of my favourite movie of my favourite couple on-screen alia bhatt and Varun dhawan. Humpty Sharma ki dulhania is like a favourite flimy story where the lover in order to get married to his beloved convenience his father. The way of relating the emotions with the audience is so amazing. Love and relationships has got a cute turning like Humpty says to Kavya father that “”Bande perfect Nahi hote rhiste perfect hote hai”” the dialogue is very simple but it relates to the audience that one person may not be a perfect one you search for but at least will try will all his love to be in that zone. So I recognize that though this is a flimy story but here we have much more to be feel and enjoy so enjoy this movie several times watching and loving alia bhatt and Varun dhawan

Luka Chuppi

Directed by: Laxman Utekar Cast- Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon, Vinay Pathak, Pankaj Tripathy, Atul Shrivastava, Alka Amin, Aparshakti Khurana. This comedy is set in Mathura wherein a news channel reporter Guddu (Kartik Aaryan) and his intern Rashmi (Kriti Sanon) decide to live-in together before tying the knot, hilarity ensues when their families get dragged into it resulting in confusion, chaos and melodrama. Utekar as the director does a good job and the movie has an old world charm reminding you of movies like Piya Ka Ghar(1972) or Prem Vivah (1979), though not the premise but the genre is very ‘slice of life’. It has the same ‘middle of the road’ feel like Bareilly Ki Barfi(2016) and Badhaai Ho(2018). The music is a major letdown with songs heavily remixes and borrowed from hit Punjabi originals. To give Utekar due credit he has brilliantly used Mohammed Rafi’s ‘Jaan Pehchan Ho’ and Sharda’s ‘Bidaai Geet’ in two hilarious situations. Kartik Aaryan is brilliantly adorable in the lead role, his comic timing and dialogue delivery are excellent. Kriti Sanon fails to impress but looks charming and tall, just too tall. Both Aparshakti and Pankaj Tripathy are fantastic and perform with aplomb especially the latter who gets into the skin of his characters so effortlessly in his recent acts. Now, there are some religiously offensive dialogues which may not go down well with some viewers, but the overall intent of the director and the almost clean and ‘Family viewing’ nature of this comedy can easily overshadow the minor flaws. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It

I expected IT to be more scary, I love horror. The whole idea of it gets me excited on levels completely unique to everything else, don’t get me wrong this is a great movie. Effects are boosted to the 21st century and IT actually has scenes that will make people jump. But I have been a book-fan to Steven King like forever, and it is definitely possible to get a scary SK movie because it’s happened before like in Shining and Pet Cemetery. But this lacked that emotional and long-term scar that truely terrorises my mind for the next week. I have to say I am impressed with how it came out, with the 1400 paged complicated piece of writing they were left with and a disappointing 1990 version my hopes weren’t that high. But long complicated (half) story short, they got the easy part down. When I see IT chapter 2 then I’m in for a ride, complications and confusion come like a tidal wave with the ritual of chüd, power transferals and telepathy battles I cannot wait to see how they tackle the next half of IT. Overall complete nail of IT chapter 1, I just wish it was more scarier.

The Godfather Part II

A great continuation of the world that was introduced to us in the original Godfather. This work would make even Mario Puzo himself proud. Found the duality between father and son poetic. Great way to show how Don Vito and Michael forged their own paths with different motivations. Every character had their own motivations that were understandable and believable. Not to mention the conniving Hyman Roth being an excellent villain. The ending was especially chilling as both protagonists were worlds apart when they achieved the same goal… solidifying their power. Justice was also done to make the film feel like the eras portrayed. It felt as if I was seeing real scenes of 1920 Italian New York slums and the rise of Las Vegas in the 1950s. Beautiful. The only problem I had with The Godfather: Part II was how Robert De Niro looked nothing like Don Vito. Should I hold that against him? Definitely not considering his stellar performance. 5/5. A must-watch for lovers of the Godfather or good films in general.

Ford v Ferrari

This is an excellent movie about the true story how Henry Ford II took out his revenge on the race track by hiring Carroll Shelby to beat Ferarri at the most prestigious international race, the 24 Hours of LeMans, after Enzo Ferarri pulled out of a deal to sell Ferarri to Ford and instead sell his company to Fiat. Brilliantly filmed with no CGI for the racing scenes and great acting by Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as race car driver as Ken Miles. Supporting cast as Henry Ford II, Lee Iaccoca and Ken Miles’ wife were all outstanding, while the movie was directed in a way that will entertain anyone who loves a great story. My wife made me bribe her with a dinner before agreeing to go to see this movie with me, but when it was over, she was the first to say, “What a great movie.” Highly recommend you see this in IMAX or Regal RPX theater with better sound. Only after you have seen the movie should you go to You Tube to see “behind the scenes” videos that will show you Hollywood as its best with how they created a real race crash using a most ingenious idea to crash the car right in front of Ken Miles GT. Ford not only won LeMans in 1966, but then won it 4 years in a row before HFII had made his point and moved on. Then, in 2016, Bill Ford, HFII nephew, decided to celebrate the historic 1966 win at LeMans, built a new Ford GT (you can buy one for $500,000 which is street legal) to race again at LeMans for the 50th anniversary of the 1966 win and then Ford beat Ferarri again. That is not shown in the movie, but you can find it on You Tube with Bill Ford getting sprayed with champagne on the victory stand!!! This movie is highly recommended for anyone who loves stories about the underdog, American competitive drive and what the will to win can do to power you to victory against even the best!!! Enjoyable and inspirational movie!!!

Kaabil

Kaabil, a movie which is not well promoted otherwise people would have seen this movie first and then Raees. It starts with a light mood Hritik goes to meet Yami on a blind date then they meet again and again to fall in love. The concept of movie is nice and the acting of all main actors Hritik, Yami and Ronit Roy is up to the mark. Hritik and Yami have given a great performance considering they weren’t wearing glasses to act blind. . Now the movie has done a good detailing everything when you see the first dance it doesn’t feel fake. It is well choreographed and in whole song you can see Hritik is guiding Yami to do the dance steps. It was a beautiful choreographed song. The movie has good emotions, story, songs, action scenes, dialogues and excellent detailing in all scenes. . Everyone has to appreciate the acting done by Hritik and Yami. The story, the plot and how Hritik takes the revenge keeps you engaging and excited for the next half. Hritik is blind but also talented dubing artist in the movie. The dialogues are spot on in the movie. You’ll be amazed how can a voice mislead and lead to so many miscommunications. I don’t think Kaabil will disappoint you in anyway. Well after a longtime a movie worth watching is here Kaabil after cliché bollywood movies like Befikre and Ok Jaanu. . In short head to theatre to watch Kaabil and not Raees. If you want to see a story, intelligent planning, acting, action, detailing of a character and other small things which do matter and leads to things in further movie then don’t miss this movie.
