12 Years a Slave is a 2013 biographicalperiod-drama film . This is the story of Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free African-American man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C. by two conmen in 1841 and sold into slavery. He was put to work on plantations. He is sold to difficult masters. 12 Years a Slave was named the best film of 2013 by several media outlets and critics. This movie is just Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. Amazing Direction, Heart-warming story, amazing portrayal. This is just an amazing movie. It brings tears to your eyes and still makes you happy at the end. This movie however points directly in the absence of slavery, towards other maltreatment that could be laid upon humanity. This is an almost perfect movie. The character development is amazing and very emotional to watch. The movie could feel slow, some people might say certain scenes were drawn out. for the most part the pacing of the movie was good. The movie is very realistic and inspiring. Very touching and sensational.
